Casey discovered his love for food at an early age while helping his mom and aunts in the kitchen. After honing his cooking skills at several restaurants around his hometown of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Casey accepted a Corporate Chef position with Brinker International.  He spent the next 8 years opening new restaurants for the Chilli’s Bar and Grill concept all over the world, including a restaurant on Ramstein Air Force base in Germany.  

After becoming a father in 2008, Casey wanted to remain close to home and cut back on travel and he accepted a Management position with Chili's in Lakewood. In 2010, he reconnected with his childhood friend, Justin Brunson, who recently opened Masterpiece Delicatessen.  Justin offered Casey the Chef de Cuisine position at Masterpiece Deli while he was in the process of opening Old Major.

In 2013, Casey opened Masterpiece Deli in Uptown and was promoted to Director of Operations. Culture Meat and Cheese opened in 2016 in the Denver Central Market under his direction.  Casey currently oversees operations at Burnson & Co. concepts and specializes in training and development.
